Character Information:

Character Name: Isobel "Izzie" Stevens

Age: 27
Canon: Grey's Anatomy
Appearance:
Izzie is freaking hot. No really. She's tall, blonde, fit, and, according to canon 'totally stacked'. Her looks even earned her a short lived career as a lingerie model under the alias of 'Bethany Whisper', and she apparently made enough money to pay off the entirety of her college and med school debt. Her looks, however, seem to be more of a hindrance than a help in her current career, as many people dismiss her as 'the dumb blonde', a few of her colleages even referring to her as Dr. Model.

Izzie smiles often and has a very warm, friendly demeanor.

Personality:

Izzie is a character who is defined by her heart. Sometimes that heart is fickle, or far too open, but overall it's the strongest part of her, and she puts a heavy stock in her emotions. Her motivations are always for what she believes is the right thing, and sometimes she is so heavily influenced by said conviction that it ends up hurting her. Optimistic, but not necessarily naive, Izzie is a woman who wants to believe in the best of people even if they constantly show her otherwise.

The first impression Izzie gives is a happy, confident woman. It's not often that a large, genuine smile's missing from her face and her presence can light up a room. She's friendly, overly friendly if she thinks someone really needs someone to talk to, and has a bubbly quality to her conversation. Izzie, quite frankly, cheers people up. And she doesn't do it for reasons other than the selfless satisfaction of seeing others happy. Her giving nature is unparalled in canon- even to the point of donating the 8.7 million dollars she received after her fiance's death to open a memorial free clinic in his honor.

That selfless satisfaction is not without its drawbacks, however. Occasionally Izzie can be taken as a meddler, simply because when she thinks something will make someone happy, she'll do whatever it takes to make sure it happens - regardless if the person wants it or not. Izzie can also be extremely overprotective of her friends and loved ones to the point of being overbearing. Often she has such big plans and aspirations for people that she forgets to do a reality check and ask herself if that's honestly what they want or what she wants for them. Her ability to be immensely empathetic has also lead Izzie into problems- far too often she gets emotionally invested in people or ideas to the point where she ignores logic or reason in favor of it. It also leads to Izzie being more susceptible to those who would mean to manipulate her through such means. Though far from stupid, she's not immune to looking past the obvious logic in order to help people.

Her aspirations are also a defining characteristic to Izzie Stevens. She's optimistic, unfailingly so even when life continues to throw her massive, steaming piles of crap. As stated by herself, she "believes in the good", and when terrible things happen to her, she is often shaken but not entirely broken because of that conviction.

But that's not to say that Izzie is entirely sugary sweet. If she discovers she's being used, or has been wronged emotionally, she can bring the pain. Izzie can hold a grudge like no one's business, and will retaliate like a poked bear if she discovers that someone is taking advantage of her generousity and good intentions. She's also prone to emotional outbursts if she finds herself in situations where she is either uncomfortable of provoked.

Izzie also has a very strong ambitious streak about her. She knows what she wants, how talented she is, and what she deserves. In canon, the surgeons of Seattle Grace hospital are constantly at each other's throats to get the best surgeries, and Izzie is not excluded from the process. She's an incredibly hard worker, having come from a less than prosperous backgorund and made it through college and medical school without any debt, and it's clear that she highly values her intelligence and education.

Overall, Izzie is a lively woman with a lot of spirit, and that spirit keeps her strong when the world keeps trying to bring her down.

Background:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Izzie_Stevens <- ta da!

Canon point:
Post Drowning on Dry Land- I am choosing this canon point because it has Izzie post Denny and starting to get her feet back under her before that catastrophic season 4 and she gets her Crowning Moment of Awesome

Special Abilities:

Izzie is an excellent surgeon, and therefore has a refined knowledge of surgery, medical practices, and general clinical care. She's also a kick ass muffin baker.

Sect:
Civilian

Job:

Surgeon

Third Person:

It wasn't like she asked to be involved in any of this, Izzie mused as her mouth chomped down on the creamy, unidentifiable yellow mush, a spoon going back towards the container as she kicked her feet up on the rec room's sofa. Seriously, there was no reason for George to be giving her the cold shoulder just because she was able to scrub in on one of the more prestigious surgeries with Doctor Montegomery.

She hated Montegomery anyways.

Right. So.

George should quit moping.

Izzie dipped the spoon back into the container again, eating another bite with increased intensity as her self-justification rose in.

Besides. She hadn't had a proper surgery in months. All the residents had been walking around her with severe stares over clipboards and the attendings with outirght disgust. Ever since the whole Denny thing.

Two more spoonfuls. No one was around. The calories weren't counting.

And. Well. Maybe Izzie was just starting to get her feet back under her after the whole Denny thing. Maybe it was time to put the scalpel in the hand again and admit that the whole Denny thing was starting to move past her.

Another spoonful.

Or maybe it was the Denny thing that was what made her come back to the couch every time she had a quiet minute to herself and open the tub of butter in the shared community fridge. She had gained about six pounds. Everyone knows surgeons never gain weight. They don't have time to eat.

Izzie sighed, putting another spoon towards her mouth when-

-off went the pager.

She sighed, kicking her feet off the table and moving to put the butter back in the fridge, making a mental note to leave Bailey a few dollars next week, since the butter kept mysteriously being replaced and she was sure it wasn't Meredith.

02 It just keeps on getting better

[Phone]

Okay, this place? Has some serious, serious problems. It's not medically possible for-

[ a self-deprecating laugh before Izzie starts talking to herself ]

Right, Izzie. Try justifying statutes leaping out of bodies with science. That'll end happily.

Anyways. I'm here if anyone needs medical assistance.

[ Action ]

[ A: At 748 Partridge Izzie can be found in the kitchen, pacing, tearing her hair, and biting her lip while attempting to bake cupcakes. There are already dozens of freshly baked goods all over the counter. Pies, muffins, cakes, and even an over ambitious torte. People walking by will notice stacks of full muffin trays on the porch with a note saying "Please God, take at least three" ]

[ B: At the hospital, Izzie is relieved to finally have her actual scrubs back, and is just chilling in the break room with a cup of tea. Bother her? ]

01. action; phone

I'm...guessing this antique doesn't have service to Seattle, does it?

[a weak, awkward chuckle as Izzie tries to suppress a nervous breakdown]

Or, you know. Actually exist. I'm hallucinating, please Jesus tell me this is all one very messed up tequila-soaked dream...

Right. Well. Um. Hi. I'm Izzie. If someone could point me towards the nearest bus station and explain why I woke up in a pink, cat-printed nightgown I'd really, really appreciate it.

[Following the phone conversation...

A. Waking up at 748 Partridge, Izzie finds herself in a bed, sleeping next to someone she doesn't know, in a room with several stuffed animals. Feel free to see her with a catatonic D8 face

B. Izzie is wandering around town trying to find either a liquor store, bus station, computer or cell phone. Where is the friggin Wi-Fi?!]
